Welcome to Norway as part of HQ ARRC. This page is firstly meant for colleagues, families and other people being interested in Norways contribution in the ARRC and Norway as a such, but not at least also for potential future Norwegian officer colleagues and families within the ARRC. Norway has been a NATO Member since the start in 1949. Norway has been a Partner Nation within Headquarters Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (HQ ARRC) from the very beginning in 1992 (read history on the main page). The Norwegian contribution in HQ ARRC consists of four officers in the Peacetime Establishment (PE) structure and an additional three officers permanently tied into the EAN (Crisis Establishment, (CE)) reinforcement of the HQ. As of today, the Norwegian officers in the permanent HQ are represented in different branches; Combat Service Support (OF-4, DACOS CSS OPS COORD), G3 OPS (OF-3, SO2), G3 PLANS (OF-3, SO2) and Engineer & Civil Support (OF-2, SO3). The rotation time for NOR personnel serving abroad is normally four years, with the possibility halfway to apply for three, or be posted elsewhere if promoted. The Norwegians are closely linked to the rest of the ARRC Family and UK as Framework Nation really gives priority the Partner Nation issue. The surroundings in Gloucestershire are wonderful. The area provides lots of possibilities for children and grown-ups. The cultural life is very rich in Cheltenham, where we all live. Gloucestershire and the surroundings, including Cotswolds, Forest of Dean, Black Mountains and Wales, The Midlands, Bath, Bristol, Devon and Cornwall are close by and London is 2 hours away by car, coach or train. We highly recommend working within HQ ARRC. It is challenging and interesting work in a highly professional, multinational Headquarters.
