Workshop provides practical solutions in weapon disposal

Since Tuesday, commanders and logistic specialists in Weapons, Ammunition, Mines and Explosive management from MoD BiH and AF BiH supported by specialists from OSCE, EUFOR and NATO gathered at the Workshop in Konjic.

NATO HQ Sarajevo is committed to assist AF BiH in disposing Ammunition, Mines and Explosive in BiH by destruction through methods of demilitarization, open detonation and open burning. However, in 2011 the reduction of movable defense property has been, despite all the undertaken efforts, below expectations. One of the objectives of the Konjic Workshop is to identify the problems in the current process and provide practical solutions and improvement to the processes. The second half of the 4 day workshop is committed in reviewing and improving the present guidelines in the disposal of surplus of weapons and ammunition.
