Ambassador of France to Italy visits JFC Naples

His Excellency Mr. Jean-Marc De la Sabliere, Ambassador of France to Italy and San Marino, met with the Adm. Mark Fitzgerald, Joint Force Command Naples commander Feb. 25. Adm. Fitzgerald hosted Ambassador De la Sabliere for the duration of the visit which included a briefing on national business at the headquarters in Bagnoli, Naples.

Black History Month Luncheon

Gary Marvel performed with Naples American High School Jazz Band for the 2010 African American Black History Month Luncheon Feb. 24 at Joint Forces Command Naples in Bagnoli, Naples. Marvel is the band director.

JFC Commander visists Viskoki Decane Monastery

Admiral Mark Fitzgerald, JFC commander, and Gen. Markus Bentler, KFOR commander, visited the Visoki Decane Monastery and met with Bishop Teodosije outside Pec, Kosovo, Feb. 18. The Visoki Decane Monastery is one of the cultural sites in Kosovo currently under the protection of NATO forces. The monastery was built between 1327 and 1335 by the Serbian medieval king St. Stephen of Decani and was dedicated to the Ascension of the Lord.

Chief Warrant Officer receives NATO high honors, closes career

Lt Gen Herrmann, the Commander of the NATO Communication Services Agency Headquarters, awarded Chief Warrant Officer Antonio Benedetto, Italian Air Force with the NATO Meritorious Service Medal Feb. 17 at the NATO Community Conference Center in Bagnoli, Naples. Italian Air Force Col. Dario Nicolella, NCSA Sector Naples commander and and personnel assigned to the command were present for the ceremony.

Haiti Cake Day

JFC Naples, 16th February 2010 - UK Community Members raised money for Haitian earthquake victims by organizing a "Cake and Tea” event held at the UK Joint Support Unit Education Facility JFC Naples today.
Lead event organizers Caron King and Rebecca Blakeway-Long decided that they had to do something to help people of Haiti. Alongside King and Blakeway-Long, Susanne Creeley, Jane White, Sonia Bennett and other UK community members baked cakes for sale and served hot and cold drinks to JFC personnel.

NCSA Director Visits Naples and Italian Remote Sites

Lt. Gen. Kurt Herrmann, German Air Force, Director of NATO Communication and Information Systems Service Agency visited Headquarters NCSA Sector Naples from February 16-18. Lt. Gen. Herrmann was welcomed by Col. Dario Nicolella, Italian Air Force, NCSA Sector Naples commander, in Verona, Italy, Feb. 16.

JFC Naples Facility Management Branch Head Transfer of Authority

JFC Naples 12th February 2010- Col. L. Bodini, Italian Army Aviation, this morning assumed command of the JFC Facility Management Branch from Col. Danilo Ancora, ITA. Col. Ancora was Post Commander for JFC since 2006 and has now been reassigned to the JFC Naples Civil Military Cooperation Branch.

JFC Naples Deputy Commander visits NATO

BAGHDAD, Iraq – LGen Charles Bouchard, Joint Force Command Naples Deputy Commander paid a two day visit to NATO Training Mission-Iraq(NTM-I), over Feb 9 and 10.
The General was welcomed by the NTM-I Commander, Lt Gen Michael Barbero, and his Deputy, MG Giuseppe Spinelli.
During his visit he was briefed on the Missions' activities and achievements, met the staff and toured all of the locations and facilities where NTM-I personnel advise, mentor and train the Iraqi Security Forces.
