Change of Command Ceremony in Gendarmerie Training Division

BAGHDAD 27th Dec 09 - At 13.00 all carabinieri of the NTM-I mission gathered near the Baghdad International Airport for the ceremony of changing command in the gendarmerie training division. Col. Mauro Isidori replaced Col. Luciano Zubani as commander of GTD NTM-I in Iraq.
During celebrations Col. Zubani thanked his troops telling them how much he had enjoyed his 8 months as their commander. He also mentioned the vast experience he has gained during his GTD command, and thanked everyone for support over the mission.
"The future of Iraq is in your hands and in your hearts”, Col. Zubani turned to the carabineer students. "The progress of this great nation depends largely on your proficiency and on that you should instil in terms of professionalism in the people attending your lessons”.
NTM-I commander LTG Michael Barbero awarded Zubani and 15 other carabineers the NATO medal and thanked them for his dedicated service to the National Police of Iraq.
NTM-I DCom Maj. Gen. Giuseppe Antonio Spinelli thanked Col. Zubani for the extremely good job of Gendarmerie Training Division during his command. "Col. Zubani has made an incredible impact here in Iraq,” Maj. Gen. Spinelli said.
At the end of the ceremony Col. Zubani welcomed his successor Col. Mauro Isidori.
During commanding of the Col. Zubani, Gendarmerie Training Division of NTM-I successfully accomplished 3 courses which included 2564 Iraqi police students
