NTM-I and the Future – Investing in Success

A speech given recently by Lt General Barbero, COM NATO Training Mission - Iraq as his last address as commander of the NTM-I mission, as well as a call to continue the strong support this council has shown the mission which has allowed it to play an important role in creating a secure and democratically led Iraq.

Locklear Makes first Visit to Iraq as Commander

Baghdad, Dec. 1, 2010 - Admiral Samuel J. Locklear, III traveled to Iraq on his first visit as Commander Allied Joint Force Command Naples this week to reaffirm NATO's commitment to the mission at the request of the Government of Iraq and to recognize our contributing nations for their efforts. While there he recognized dozens of NATO troops for their service and sacrifice to the NATO training mission.

Iraqi National Operations Centers achieved Self Sustaining Capability (SSC).

BAGHDAD – LTG Michael Barbero, NATO Training Mission – Iraq Commander, announced Nov. 23 that the three National Operations Centers in Baghdad: the Prime Minister's National Operations Centre (PM NOC); the Ministry of Interior National Command Centre (MoI NCC); and the Ministry of Defence Joint Operations Centre (MoD JOC) have all achieved the Self Sustaining Capability (SSC).

BAGHDAD – NATO Training Mission – Iraq Training and Equipment Synchronization Cell (TESC) together with Iraqi Security Forces Training Coordinators conducted the NATO "Out of Country (OOC) Conference” on the Iraqi MoD M7 base, on 14 November 2010.

NTM-I Carabinieri conclude first "building clearance” course

BAGHDAD, Iraq – The Italian Carabinieri of NATO Training Mission Iraq concluded the first specialized "building clearance” course for 43 policemen in the Iraqi Academy Emergency Reaction Department Nov. 8.

Ar Rustamiyah, Iraq – NATO Training Mission - Iraq and Iraq's Joint Staff and Command College (JSCC) held the first Methods of Instruction course Oct. 11-Nov. 4, turning 15 Iraqi officers into a new generation of instructors.

30 Iraqi instructors graduate from NTM-I course

­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Ar RUSTAMIYAH, IRAQ – Thirty Iraqi instructors graduated from the six-week trainer (T3) course led by NATO Training Mission – Iraq at the Iraqi Military Academy in Rustamiyah (IMAR) Nov. 4.

The graduation and award ceremony was attended by Lt. Col. Nouri, IMAR deputy commander, and Lt. Col. Jay Turner, IMAR chief mentor.
