NTM-I Builds Relationship between US, Iraqi War Colleges

Iraqi Army Maj. Gen. Zeyad Mahmood, Iraqi War College staff commandant, recently made his first visit to the U.S. Army War College, in Carlisle, Penn., as part of the "out of country” cross-cultural training program.
Out-of-country visits help Iraqi military achieve their goal of building enduring relationships using a cross-cultural exchange of experiences and ideas.

USAREUR CG visits NATO Training Mission - Iraq

The Commanding General of U.S. Army, Europe, visited NATO Training Mission – Iraq June 26 - 27 to get a first-hand look at NTM-I training initiatives. During the visit USAREUR CG Gen. Carter F. Ham, Deputy Commander of the Italian Joint Operational Command Rear Adm. Rinaldo Cherubino Veri and U.K. Military Representative Lt. Gen. David Bill toured the Ar Rustamiyah Military Academy and discussed current training initiatives with Iraqi educational institution representatives. Ham, Veri and Bill also visited the Gendarmerie Training Unit in Camp Dublin - Baghdad. During the visit to the Special Training Academy Iraqi Federal Police staff demonstrated their capabilities of working on complex terrain.

NATO deputy commander visits Iraqi NCO school

TAJI, Iraq – Maj. Gen. Claudio Angelelli, the new NATO Training Mission - Iraq deputy commander, began his tour of duty with a visit to the NCO School at the Regional Training Center June 22 in Taji, Iraq, as one of several visits to military training institutions around Iraq.

NTM-I Discusses Training Program With Iraqi Leaders

Italian Maj. Gen Claudio Angelelli, NATO Training Mission in Iraq (NTM-I) deputy commander, met with Iraqi government officials and military leaders in Baghdad this week after taking command June 10.
Gen. Angelelli met with Lt. Gen. Salih Sarhan, Ministry of Defense general secretary, Wednesday to discuss NATO's in-country and out-of-country training programs.

Joint Staff and Command College holds opening ceremony for accommodation

The Iraqi Joint Staff and Command College held the official opening of a new accommodation at Ar Rustamiyah June 13.
The JSCC, established as the Baghdad Staff School on Feb. 2, 1928, has a long and eminent history and continues to develop the quality of its officer education and training to meet the requirements of the new Iraqi Armed Forces.

Iraqi National Defence College visits Italy

The dean, staff and students from the Iraqi National Defence College visited Italy June 11-18 as part of a bilateral educational agreement. The programme included official and cultural visits to broaden the visitors knowledge and understanding of inter-state relations and alliances visiting Italian and NATO Commands and Institutes.
