Baghdad, Iraq – The NATO Training Mission in Iraq, which started in 2004 at the request of the Iraqi authorities,will be completing its successful mission and cease operations by the end of 2011.

The North Atlantic Council has decided to undertake the permanent withdrawal of the NATO Training Mission-Iraq personnel from Iraq by 31 December 2011, when the current mandate of the mission expires.

Baghdad, Iraq – On 12 December 2011, some 50 students from Iraq's Defence Language Institute (DLI) received graduation certificates that marked the end of nearly six months of study towards military language qualifications in English, Italian, German and Russian.
