NATO Training Schools
Training is also conducted outside Iraq in NATO education and training facilities and National Centres of Excellence throughout NATO member countries. This activity provides a valuable opportunity to educate and train Iraqi Security personnel and to provide them with some experience of other nation's approaches to security and to form partnerships and links to others with similar interests. During the period 2004-2009 1530 places have been provided to Iraqi Security Forces at NATO Educational and Training Facilities. During 2010, the Training and Equipment Synchronisation Cell has coordinated the attendance of 300 ISF on 18 NATO courses as well as a further 300 places offered by, and paid for by, Turkey at their Centre of Excellence.
